Designed as an ultra-slim pancake prime, this compact lens combines a versatile 26mm focal length with a bright f/2.8 aperture, making it well suited to street photography, travel, architecture, documentary work, environmental portraits, and everyday shooting. Its 81.2° angle of view captures plenty of context without the exaggerated perspective of an ultra-wide lens.

The lens uses an 8-element, 6-group optical design with two aspherical elements and one high-refractive element to support sharp, detailed rendering in a remarkably compact body. A seven-blade diaphragm provides control over depth of field, while the f/2.8 maximum aperture is useful for low-light photography and creative subject separation.

At approximately 130g and only 23.8mm long, the Sony E version is exceptionally easy to carry.
